Cheap Hotels in Amsterdam & Amsterdam Hotel Guide

One more letter from a person who was so kind to share his Amsterdam experience with us.

“We booked this Amsterdam Nes Hotel because of its convenient location and we were not disappointed in spite of the fact that we have read some not very positive reviews about this cheap Amsterdam hotel soon after booking a room there.

We traveled in a group of 14 ladies and we were served efficiently and with respect from the hotel staff of Hotel Nes Amsterdam. But we were unpleasantly surprised that the actual room price was slightly more expensive than quoted on the website where we booked this hotel in Amsterdam. Moreover, we had to pay a tax. As a result, we paid 180 Euros per night per room instead of quoted 160 euros per night per room.

Our room was very modest in terms of size, but it was perfectly clean, the bed was comfy and the bed linen was fresh and spotless. Our room overlooked the canal, so we had good views out of our large French windows. We couldn’t hear street noise as the windows were double-glazed and soundproof, so in spite of the hotel’s central location we had quiet nights.

Buffet breakfast was included in the room rate. It was served between 8am and 10 am in a dining room and included bread, rolls, cheese, ham, jam, boiled and scrambled eggs, range of cereals, fresh fruit, tea, coffee and so on. Those who preferred full English could get it for some extra charge.

There was a cosy lounge with fireplace area below the dining room. I guess it is very pleasant to relax there in a cold winter day…

It was my first trip to the capital of the Netherlands; I loved Amsterdam very much and hope to come back. Probably, I will choose cheap Amsterdam Hotel Nes again.”
