Here is a letter that I have recently got from a traveler to Amsterdam. He shared his thoughts about Movenpick Hotel Amsterdam City Centre.
“Movenpick Hotel Amsterdam City Centre is a modern Amsterdam hotel located on the water’s edge adjacent to the new Muziekgebouw concert hall and the Cruise Passenger Terminal buildings. Despite its name, Movenpick Hotel Amsterdam City Centre is not right in the downtown area of Amsterdam, but very close to it. It wasn’t a big problem for me to get to the hotel from the Central Station where I actually arrived. I took a tram and it took me about 3 minutes to get to Movenpick Amsterdam Hotel. By the way, trams are great in Amsterdam – they run frequently and they are very fast, let alone they are cheap in comparison to local taxi rates. There was a tram stop right in front of the hotel, but I had to walk around the canal to get to hotel entrance.
My double room was on the eleventh floor, so I could enjoy spectacular views the busy harbor and the city. I suppose that rooms on the upper floors have even more striking views, so if you are not afraid of heights ask for rooms at the top of the building. A vast range of four-star amenities were available in the room: fridge, safe, free WiFi Internet access, minibar and satellite TV. There was a comfortable king-size bed and a spacious bathroom. Room service was very quick and efficient.
Don’t miss a chance to visit well-equipped gym and spa. Breakfast was not included and cost EUR 23.00 – it was a little expensive but very good.
Overall, it was a very nice stay and I would come back.”
