NH Museum Quarter - a Comfortable Amsterdam Hotel Close to Museums

September 13th, 2008 · No Comments

Here is another Amsterdam hotel experience from Peter. This time it is NH Museum Quarter, a 4-star hotel in the downtown of Amsterdam.

“My wife and I have just returned from a short trip to Amsterdam where we stayed at NH Museum Quarter. Our hotel was near the “Museumkwartier” or the Museum Quarter - as the name suggests. Actually, location was the most important reason for choosing a cheap hotel in Amsterdam, because we did not want to be in the center and we did want to be near the museums - NH Museum Quarter was ideally located at the edge of the historical centre.  There were a lot of places to eat within a 15 minute walk of the hotel in any direction, so you can skip the breakfast and eat out. (Take a chance to try some delicious sweets and pastries in a patisserie which is a few blocks away from the hotel).

We stayed 4 nights in a spacious corner room overlooking the canal. Our room was air conditioned, equipped with fridge, safe, TV and Wi-Fi. Bathroom was just great and everything was changed and replaced daily with absolutely no fuss. No mini-bar was available, but there were vending machines on every floor selling soft drinks and beer. We saw a gym or a fitness club, but we can’t comment on that as we had no time to go and see it.

All in all, NH Museum Quarter suited our needs very well and this comfortable Amsterdam hotel is a good place I would highly recommend.”
